The first eBay listing tool to try is eBay’s own advanced listing tool in Seller Hub, which costs nothing to use. eBay’s normal selling fees still apply. Paid software earns its price when you need something eBay’s tool doesn’t do. That could be listing the same items on other marketplaces, keeping one stock count across channels, running several eBay accounts, or handling orders and a warehouse in one place. This guide covers what eBay’s tools do, the four kinds of third-party tools, and how eight of them compare on eBay features and price, as of October 2026.
In short
- eBay’s advanced listing tool is free for every Seller Hub user. Find it under Seller Hub, Listings, Create listing.
- Seller Hub itself is free and adds orders, listing templates, research and CSV reports. You need at least one sale to use it.
- Third-party tools come in four kinds: eBay-focused listing tools, crosslisters for resellers, marketplace apps for your own store, and multichannel inventory and order systems.
- Paid plans in this guide start at $9.95 a month (Auctiva, billed yearly). Shopify’s Marketplace Connect app is free up to 50 synced orders a month. Linnworks quotes on request; Rithum shows no price and offers a demo.
- Before you commit, check that a tool can import your current listings and that you can export your data.
What is eBay’s own listing tool?
eBay has two listing tools of its own: a quick listing tool, “a guided, step-by-step flow for casual sellers,” and the advanced listing tool, which has more features. eBay’s help page says the advanced tool is “available to all Seller Hub users” and works “across desktop and mobile web browsers.” To start, go to your Seller Hub Listings, select Create listing, and choose Single listing or Multiple listing.
The form has sections for item specifics, title, variations, condition, photos and video, categories, description, pricing, shipping, preferences and a preview. A few limits from eBay’s guide to the advanced listing tool:
- Photos must be at least 500 pixels on the longest side.
- The photo editor can crop, rotate, remove the background and adjust brightness and contrast.
- Videos can be .mp4 or .mov files, up to 150MB or about one minute long.
eBay’s Seller Center also offers an AI tool “to help you write your listing descriptions.” Treat its draft as a starting point and check every detail against the item. For the title field, our guide to eBay titles covers the 80-character limit and word order.
Seller Hub
Seller Hub is eBay’s dashboard around the listing tool. eBay says, “There’s no charge to use Seller Hub.” You only pay for subscriptions you choose, such as a Store. The Seller Hub help page adds one condition: “You’ll need to have had at least one sale to use Seller Hub.”
Its main tabs, as eBay describes them:
- Listings: Create and manage listings one at a time or many at once. Seller Center suggests saving a listing template here if you list a lot.
- Orders: Print shipping labels and upload tracking.
- Marketing: Promotion tools, some only for eBay Store subscribers.
- Performance and Research: Sales data, plus advice on listings, sourcing, pricing and restocking.
- Reports: File-based CSV and XLSX reports and templates.
- Payments: A record of your payouts.
eBay’s options for larger catalogs
eBay’s Seller Center lists more options. Seller Hub Reports, formerly File Exchange, lets you “upload and manage your inventory” in CSV or XLS files. A Seller Hub tool can “create, relist or revise multiple listings at once,” and eBay rates it easy for medium volume. The Merchant Integration Platform takes feed files up to 25 MB. eBay’s APIs let large sellers and third-party platforms add, revise, relist or end listings.
Is there a free eBay listing tool?
Yes. eBay’s advanced listing tool and Seller Hub cost nothing to use. eBay still charges an insertion fee when you create a listing and a final value fee when the item sells.
As of October 2026, eBay’s selling fees page gives sellers up to 250 zero insertion fee listings a month in most categories. After that, each listing costs $0.35. eBay says “Fees are different for Store subscribers,” so check your plan.
Most tools in this guide are paid subscriptions, and many start with a free trial. As of October 2026, the trials run 7 days at 3Dsellers, 14 days at Vendoo and SalesChannelHub (ours), and 30 days at Auctiva.
The four kinds of third-party listing tools
“Listing tool for eBay” covers very different products. The comparison lists that rank for this search mix crosslisters, template tools and multichannel software in one ranking. The table below sorts them by kind.
| Kind of tool | Built for | What it does | Examples |
|---|---|---|---|
| eBay-focused listing tool | Sellers whose main channel is eBay | Listing templates, scheduling, edits to many listings, several eBay accounts | 3Dsellers, Auctiva |
| Crosslister | Resellers listing on several marketplaces | Posts an item to several marketplaces and removes it from the rest when it sells | Vendoo, List Perfectly |
| Marketplace app for your store | Store owners adding eBay | Lists store products on eBay and manages orders and stock from the store admin | Shopify Marketplace Connect |
| Multichannel inventory and order system | Businesses shipping stock to several channels | One stock count and one order queue across channels | Linnworks, Rithum, SalesChannelHub (ours) |
Store platforms have their own connectors too. eBay’s third-party providers page lists Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce, GoDaddy, Lightspeed, Shopify, Squarespace, Wix and WooCommerce as “platforms” with “connectors for listing your website inventory on eBay.”
eBay listing software compared, as of October 2026
Each row uses only the vendor’s own website, checked in October 2026. Prices change, so confirm them on the vendor’s pricing page.

eBay-focused tools, and what happened to inkFrog
3Dsellers and Auctiva are built around eBay first. Both sell plans by listing count: 3Dsellers by listings and eBay accounts, Auctiva by listings and included GMV (gross merchandise value) on its eBay-only plans. 3Dsellers says its plans cover “Unlimited eBay regions.” Auctiva’s Base+ and Plus+ plans list eBay Motors and eBay international.
inkFrog was another eBay listing tool in this group. Owned by Wix, it shut down on June 1, 2026, according to its email to users. The email gave them until May 31, 2026 to export their listing data as CSV files. In October 2026, inkfrog.com redirects to Wix’s multichannel selling page.
Crosslisters
Vendoo calls itself a crosslisting platform for resellers. It says it “quickly removes sold items from all the remaining marketplaces, to prevent double-selling.” List Perfectly offers “Sales detection, notification, and delist from all marketplaces.” Both include eBay. If you sell parts that need Motors compatibility, or ship from a warehouse, ask the vendor whether those are covered.
Store apps and multichannel systems
If you already run a Shopify store, Shopify’s own Marketplace Connect app adds eBay, Amazon, Target Plus and Walmart. It charges by synced orders, not by listings. Linnworks prices by monthly orders and quotes on request. Rithum shows no prices and offers a demo. Linnworks and Rithum both appear as Gold Partners on eBay’s third-party providers page. SalesChannelHub, our own software
SalesChannelHub is ours, built by the team behind OC Designs Online, so read this part with that in mind. It is multichannel inventory and order management software. It connects Shopify, BigCommerce or WooCommerce with eBay, Amazon, Etsy, Walmart and TikTok Shop.
On eBay, its site says it can:
- Create fixed-price, auction and Best Offer listings with item specifics, store categories and business policies.
- Import your eBay listings, matched by eBay item ID, then SKU, and revise them in place.
- Send stock changes automatically for listings published from it, bring in orders every five minutes once auto-sync is on, and send tracking back when you ship.
- Add parts compatibility to eBay Motors listings.
Its limits are one eBay account per workspace and only eBay US and eBay Motors. Plans cost $79, $150 or $300 a month, set by monthly orders, or 20% less billed yearly, with a 14-day trial and no card.
Which eBay listing tool is best?
We found no independent test that ranks them. We read two of the comparison lists in Google’s top results for “ebay listing software” in October 2026. Both come from tool makers, Nifty and LitCommerce, and each puts its own product first. eBay’s partner page names Gold and Silver partners, including Rithum, Linnworks, Auctiva, Vendoo and Shopify Marketplace Connect. It doesn’t say how partners are chosen.
So start from what you sell and where:
| Your situation | Start with |
|---|---|
| You sell only on eBay and list a few items at a time | eBay’s advanced listing tool and Seller Hub |
| You list many similar items from a spreadsheet | Seller Hub Reports or eBay’s tool for many listings |
| You resell items on several marketplaces, such as Poshmark and Mercari | A crosslister |
| eBay is your main channel and you want templates, scheduling or several eBay accounts | An eBay-focused tool |
| You run a Shopify store and want to add eBay | Your store platform’s marketplace app |
| You ship stock from a warehouse to several channels | A multichannel inventory and order system |
Questions to ask before you choose a tool
Ask these before you move a catalog into any tool. A trial is the time to test them on a few real listings.
- Can it import your current eBay listings, and does it revise them in place? Ask how imported listings behave. SalesChannelHub’s site, for example, says imported listings are revised in place, but stock syncs automatically only for listings it published.
- Does it handle item specifics, business policies and Motors compatibility? Check each field your listings use today. Our guide to eBay item specifics explains what they are and why eBay asks for them.
- Which eBay sites and how many accounts? 3Dsellers covers unlimited eBay regions. SalesChannelHub covers eBay US and eBay Motors with one account per workspace.
- Are its description templates free of active content? eBay’s JavaScript policy says active content such as JavaScript, Flash, plug-ins and form actions is no longer displayed in listings. A listing that contains them gets a “Disallowed JavaScript/HTML Syntax” error, and you can’t list the item until it’s removed. A template only sets the layout. For the words themselves, see how to write an eBay description.
- How does the price grow? Tools set plans by listing count (3Dsellers, and Auctiva’s eBay-only plans, which also include a set GMV), per synced order (Shopify Marketplace Connect), by monthly order volume (Linnworks, SalesChannelHub) or with no public price (Rithum, which offers a demo). Work out the cost at twice your current size.
- Can you get your data out? inkFrog’s users had a CSV export window before the shutdown. Ask any vendor how you would export listings, photos and orders if you leave.
